Nature therapy and forest bathing refers to the practice of spending time outdoors in nature for the improvement of health. Benefits include relaxation, reducing stress levels, enhanced gratitude for non-human life, and appreciation of the seasons/time. Since ancient times, the benefits of nature for human health were recognized by both leaders and physicians, inspiring Cyprus the Great to establish a garden for public health. Research has found that spending 120 minutes in nature weekly can significantly improve one’s health and well-being.
While participating in nature therapy and/or forest bathing, it is important to be mindful of and protect the nature around you, such as by practicing "Leave No Trace" principles.
