Hunters are often some of the greatest advocates for the preservation of wilderness as they understand that, in order for a species to survive, it needs a healthy habitat. Despite modern technologies that give hunters big advantages and the inherent “savage” nature of hunting, killing and butchering game and fish it is an age-old practice that deeply connects one to “that which sustains us.”

Hunting can be done in ethical ways. Respecting the animal by giving “fair chase,” aiming for specific places to shoot-to-kill efficiently, preparing the game in clean ways without wasting anything or polluting the land, covering the carcass in transport (not “showing off”), and other best practices can be used to respect the community, human and non.
