Roni Horn has been traveling to Iceland since 1975, and she makes a lot of art in response to that arctic location. Working in various mediums, she has created photographs, sculptures, installations, books, and more. Often referencing weather in the work, Horn explores our relation to the elements, such as her series “You are the Weather,” which depicts a woman in various geothermal pools. The “Library of Water” is a sculptural installation of twenty-four columns filled with water collected in glaciers around Iceland and other collections of water and artworks in a repurposed library building in a small town called Stykkishólmur.
