Environmental Working Group Logo

Environmental Working Group

Established in 1993 by founder and president Ken Cook, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) is a public health advocacy organization dedicated to making information transparent and accessible. The goal of the EWG is to provide up-to-date and research-backed information that empowers the public to make informed, helpful decisions that impact their overall health. Made up of a team of scientists and policy, communication, and data experts, the EWG team advocates for chemical safety and agricultural laws. Some of their advocacy work focuses on harmful cosmetic and food industry standards, outdated government legislation, and industry loopholes.

The Environmental Working Group is a great educational resource to utilize if you have questions about the quality of your air, food, water, or skin products. If you search the EWG site, you can access their tap water database to learn about the tap water quality in your area.
