“We can’t save the planet without uplifting the voices of its people, especially those most often unheard.” – Leah Thomas

With a B.S in Environmental Science and Policy, Leah Thomas is an environmentalist who uses her communication skills to build connections between social justice and environmentalism. Thomas is breaking down the “elitist” circles that our current environmentalists in the U.S. uphold by coining the term intersectional environmentalism. As a Black Lives Matter advocate, Thomas has built an incredible platform building a strong connection between the Black Lives Matter movement and environmentalism. She is best known for her eco-lifestyle blog @greengirlleah and as founder of the Instagram hub The Intersectional Environmentalist Platform. Check out her first book Intersectional Environmentalist: How to Dismantle Systems of Oppression to Protect People + Planet at a variety of book retailers!
