A powerhouse for workers’, immigrants’, and women’s rights, Dolores Huerta has a sustained major focus on agricultural labor and farmworkers’ rights, including a variety of health and environment issues. Huerta founded her own foundation, the Dolores Huerta Foundation, in 2002. Prior to that, she coined the phrase, “Sí, Se Puede,” which means, “Yes, It’s Possible” or “Yes, We Can.” She has been active in these areas since the 1950s, working with many luminaries, including César Chavez, with whom she co-founded the National Farm Workers Association in 1962.
