Cory Booker is a United States Senator from New Jersey whose extensive career in public service has had a common throughline of environmental justice. Before joining the Senate in 2013, Booker served as the Mayor of Newark, where he championed many sustainability initiatives, including expanding parks and urban green spaces.

In the Senate, Booker has continued building on that work. As a leader in environmental justice legislation, he has secured federal funding to remove lead from drinking water systems and clean up legacy pollution that disproportionately harms low-income communities, indigenous communities, and communities of color.
